Welcome shooters and reloaders!

You’ve found a very small spot in central New Hampshire (the Granite State) where Granite State Shooting hides out and advocates for safe and responsible firearm ownership, self protection, and shooting sports.  I’m glad you found us!

In this blog I will be posting content covering everything from safety and responsibility, training (which is, um, safety and responsibility!), shooting sports, ammunition reloading, and product reviews.   My hope is that you will find this content to be both educational and entertaining.  I have found that most people with a passion for just about anything enjoy talking “shop” about their hobby.

Speaking of hobbies, I should say that’s mainly what I consider firearms to be for me, and enjoyable hobby.  That is not to say that firearms are toys of any kind, and it’s not to say that they do not provide a method of self-protection.  That said, most of what I do is hone my marksmanship skills and enjoy the sport.  As an engineer by trade (I know, I know) I very much enjoy the science behind ammunition performance, which led me to reloading.  If you think shooting is enjoyable, then just try reloading!  I find it fascinating how the nearly unlimited combinations of case, primer, powder, projectile, and firearm can result in different outcomes.  Experimentation is what excites me.  I tend not to “find that perfect load” and instead experiment with as many combinations as possible to see what works and what doesn’t in a particular application.  See what I mean by talking shop?  It’s hard to stop once you start!
